Well-known Journalist and Lecturer, Sheku Putka Kamara has donated Ten Thousand New Leones (NLe 10,000) to Bullom Stars Football Club, the Premier League football team representing Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom.
As an indigene of Lungi, Putka said that he was moved to support the team because of the constraints that the team is faced. “Whiles skill, luck and strength are paramount in Football, the penchant to strategically manage and keep the team going is equally sacrosanct. To do this, finances have to be made available and same should be judiciously spent. So, this is why I am inclined to do this little contribution. Lungi is my home and so I owe it to myself and my people to give back,” Sheku Putka Kamara stated.
Since the team’s promotion to the Leone Rock Premier League, there has been a huge call for chiefdom and stakeholder support, but some of such calls had fallen on deaf ears. “We must remind ourselves that this is the only place that some of us truly call home. I therefore wish that all of us are able and willing to sacrifice a little more for this chiefdom. That’d go a long way,” Kamara stated.
Reports say that the 10k donation will be given in installments; starting April, 2025 and same will run for 10 months, indicating Sheku Putka Kamara’s urge of giving NLe 1,000 to the team for the next 10 months.
“I take this as a strategic commitment. Let’s see how things go. I look forward to advancing and redoubling these efforts in the not too distant future,” Putka ended. News about the donation has been welcomed by all and sundry, citing Putka’s generosity and urge to give back to the chiefdom as a way of supporting the chiefdom football team.
